Fixing My Attitude

Can be found in the Category: Leadership - 20 Jul 2006

Lately I have been struggling with my attitude. We all wrestle with our negative emotions. Here are a few quotes that I found that immediately resonated with me. Hope they help you today.

“A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.” - Herm Albright

“I am still determined to be cheerful and happy, in whatever situation I may be; for I have also learned from experience that the greater part of our happiness or misery depends upon our dispositions, and not upon our circumstances.” - Martha Washington

“The greatest discovery of my generation is that a human being can alter his life by altering his attitudes of mind.” - William James

I really like the Martha Washington one a lot.

Of course, I’m such a natural optimist, I don’t need to read quotes and such. :D

I hate the first one by Herm Albright. I know someone that does that all the time, and you can really tell a fake “postitive attitude” from a real one. It is only annoying because of its fakeness.

That being said, I was wondering where yesterday’s post came from and now it is a little more clear. The reason behind the reason. I too struggled with this recently (about six months ago). I’ve come to the conclusing that I don’t believe in bad boss. Why? Because no boss will every be as good as I want them to be. The answer for me is to just be happy with where I am, and if I can’t do what I can to change it.

But that doesn’t mean changing boss’. You could just end up with a worse one.
