Time Marches On, Don’t Miss Out
Today is my oldest daughter’s birthday. I have been feeling nostalgic all morning. She is now 13, yet in my mind, she is still that little girl who had her hair up in a tuft. As a father of four awesome children, I am watching each one grow up as quickly as everyone said they would. Children mark time more than anything else I know in life.
I have written?Ǭ† about this before; however, it is so important that I feel I could never write about it enough. Fathers, don’t let the corporate monster steal your time with your children as they grow up. Traveling on business to Europe or China for weeks may seem appealing. After your children grow up, the experience seems empty.
I did my fair share of traveling when my kids were young. Too much at times. Overall, I have been there through the years experiencing it with them. I missed my oldest son’s first steps. My youngest son was hit the hardest with a two year stint of work/life imbalance.
I have been cured.?Ǭ† My travel is almost nonexistent. My life as a father, husband and manager are the better for it.
