The Last Day Of the Year
I always get excited about New Years Eve. It is not spurred on by watching the ball drop, the lip-sinking performances on T.V. or even the champagne.
My excitement stems from a deep conviction that we have times in our lives that are transitional and significant. The last day of the year is one of those important times.
For several months, I have felt that 2007 was a transition year for me and my family. I believe it was a year that prepared for 2008, which will be one of the best years for us personally and professionally. A lot of things started in 2007. I think they are going to take off in 2008 and change the course of our lives dramatically.
For example, my eldest son who is 15 now has more traffic on his website (solar-balloons.com) in just one year than I do on his site after two years. His site is also starting to earn exponentially more revenue. He sells solar balloons on his site and had an order for $140 right before Christmas.
Jonathan is poised to take off in 2008! And I am going to help him until he can own the business himself.
There are other examples, but I will share more about those as they start to really take off in 2008.
Next year could be “just another year”, even though I am seeing such promising things. The only way I am going to see the change is if I continue to believe in it. That means I need to continue to:
1) Grow spiritually
2) Take action
3) Pursue passions
4) Ignore fear
5) Set my sights high
Napoleon Hill in his book “Think and Grow Rich,” emphasizes the importance of cultivating a burning desire, faith, and persistence in attaining goals. He stresses that we must overcome the most common fears that can adversely affect our thinking and potential.
I really hate the title of his book and do not agree with the pursuit of money for the sake of becoming wealthy; however, there are real truths that he uncovered.
Napoleon Hill studied many successful men, including Andrew Carnegie. All of these men had one thing in common. Failing to reach their goal was not an option. They refused to accept failure.
Do you have a goal, a passion you want to go after in 2008?
Go for it!
Happy New Year!
